NWCDC is a small tax-exempt non-profit organization that facilitates the growth of co-ops in the Pacific Northwest through providing direct technical assistance to groups pursuing co-ops. While we occasionally offer employment openings in the traditional sense, many employees work on a project-by-project basis depending on contracts we have received and the type of expertise needed. If any of the following options for working with us interest you, then we strongly encourage you send us your resume and set up an informational interview. 1) We frequently hire consultants or contractors with specific expertise to work for a defined period on a project; this may range from market research to accounting. We have an active pool of people we usually hire from for these types of positions. We also keep on file résumés and review these should we need to fill a particular need. Please mail us a resume if you would like us to keep you on file. 2) Experienced co-op business developers or researchers who have their own ideas for projects and funding, but are seeking a qualified organization to affiliate with, occasionally contact us. NWCDC seeks to conduct high quality business development or research for other non-profit groups that provide information for co-op development. Professionals seeking to affiliate with us should submit a description of their project and intended funding source to our E.D., Diane Gasaway, and we'll decide whether the project and affiliation is consistent with our goals. 3) We sponsors student interns for one or two academic quarters (see Internship Overview). These are volunteer internships that focus on project work for 20-40 hours per week. These internships typically involve assisting an ongoing project. For formal consideration, please submit a letter stating your interest, what you seek to gain, relevant experience, the time period you are interested in and the number of hours you can work. If you have a resume, please include it with the letter to our Intern Coordinator, Eric Bowman. |
